| Dersin Amacı | This course introduces graduate students to the foundations of academic research and to the critical, interpretive, and interdisciplinary research traditions used in Cultural Studies. It enables students to formulate researchable questions, critically review academic literature, select theoretically coherent research methods, collect and analyze cultural data, reflect on ethical and positional issues, and develop and present an original research proposal. |
| Dersin İçeriği | This course covers research paradigms, research problems and questions, literature review, conceptual frameworks, research design, ethics, sampling, and major research methods used in Cultural Studies. These methods include textual and visual analysis, semiotics, discourse analysis, interviews, focus groups, ethnography, digital ethnography, audience research, narrative research, archival research, content analysis, and mixed methods. Students develop skills in selecting appropriate methods, generating and analyzing evidence, evaluating research quality, reporting findings, and preparing and presenting an individual research proposal. |
