Dersin Amacı

This module aims to describe war, proxy warfare and the proxy-sponsor relationships in the Middle East. It aims to analyse the roots of proxy warfare, cyber and hybrid warfare, and proxy wars in the Middle East in the post-Cold war era. 

Dersin İçeriği

This module examines an emerging fields of war studies and international security: proxy warfare. The module critically discusses traditional ways of war and how the sovereign states have started to initiate indirect intervention. It explains the proxy-sponsor relationships, the use of non-state armed groups, terrorist organisations and other agents as proxies. It describes the goals and intentions of sponsors and proxy war typologies.
