Introducing programs and principles of numerical analysis method widely used in solving geotechnical problems. It is aimed to give students the ability of application to various engineering problems with FLAC 2D, and to use general purpose package program.

Approaches to solution of geotechnical problems by numerical methods. Numerical solution methods. Determination of problem and selection of appropriate solution method. Identification of parameters to be used in numerical analysis. Determination and selection of geotechnical parameters to be used in numerical analysis. Establishment of static model. Identification of the analysis steps of the established numerical model. Static analyzes. Establishing the dynamic model. Identification of the analysis steps of the established numerical model. Dynamic analyzes. Verification of analysis results.
